Inspired by Kenji Miyazawa’s “Shigunaru to shigunaresu” (Signal and Signaless)
The poetic masterpiece “Shigunaru to shigunaresu” is told by a renowned Kansai stage artist, Fusako Ishihara, well known to many elementary school children as Fi-fi the witch. The story is accompanied by professional performers on Japanese drum (wadaiko) and marimba. A fantastic four-dimensional world is visually expressed through international-style shadow play. With beautiful and sometimes funny images, this is a must-see.
Director: Kohey Nakadachi
Script: Kohey Nakadachi after “Shigunaru to shigunaresu” (Signal and Signaless), a children’s book by Kenji Miyazawa

Cast: Fusako Ishihara (the Kio Company)
